I frequently get emails from people asking what equipment I use and I always try to reinforce that it’s not the equipment that makes the image, it’s a simple understanding of the rules (and ‘un-rules’) of composition, a sharp eye for an unusual angle on a subject and an innate appreciation of beautiful light. Although I’d love to own the £30,000 160Mb Seitz 16×7 landscape camera a perfectly adequate wide-angle image can be achieved with an old Canon EOS 5D by stitching a series of images together in Photoshop at a fraction of the cost.
