WOW, every stadium I get to visit is simply more and more breathtaking than the last and what a fantastic experience Nelspruit certainly is! From your very first moment of arrival you are blown away by the beauty of this town – from the game lodge-like airport terminal (with flower beds full of strelitzia’s and a building dressed with a thatched roof and earth coloured plastered walls) to the incredible topography of her mountains and valleys it is no wonder this place is known as the ‘Gateway to the Kruger National Park’.

The fantastic and phenomenal Mbombela Stadium just takes your breath away and is absolutely perfect for this setting. Almost certainly the most ‘fun’ stadium in the world, it is just bursting with bright colours and located in the most beautiful bush setting. With her tall orange coloured giraffe-like structural steel supports towering up into a deep blue sky everything about this stadium invigorates the soul and gives one a most refreshing outlook on life. How exciting it is that the architectural design on an international World Cup venue of this stature can be so successful and yet so much fun all at the same time!

What a fantastic venue this is for hosting the four World Cup matches that she has got. Well done the design team!!
