Always a controversial topic the power of image editing in professional photography cannot be overstated. The image below demonstrates the subtle but powerful impact that can be achieved in bringing maximum visual potential to the fore. The subtle changes remain respectful to what was originally shot but simply enhance local contrast, hue saturation and output sharpening. The use of custom mask algorithms to subtly adjust luminosity levels and bespoke colour space profiles enable an already powerful capture to be fully brought to life in this image forming part of my contribution to the FIFA-authorised 2010 Fine Art collection.
Never looking its best online, why not go see this image in its full printed glory at the Kizo Gallery at the Gateway Shopping Centre in Durban and soon at the 2010 Fine Art exhibition at the Suncoast Casino in Durban (from 1st June 2010). Also available at the V&A Waterfront & the Raddisson Blu Hotel in Cape Town, Fourways Mall and Melrose Arch in Johannesburg.
The image is available to purchase through the individual galleries or online as an official licensed product of the 2010 FIFA World CupTM in South Africa – there’s only 210 signed and FIFA embossed prints available worldwide so you’ll certainly need to be quick…!
