As an architectural photographer you are always chasing the light and working with the weather; it took us some six weeks to get all the internal permissions in place and get some electrical work undertaken so that we could do this shoot here for the conceptual design architect at this very exclusive and secure residential estate. The weather wasn’t great and we had to battle with the light so it ultimately surfaced that shooting HDR (high dynamic range) was the only way to photograph the facilities here and get images that didn’t suffer with overly blown out highlights and detail lost in the shadows. I’m not mad about HDR but it’s a useful tool to have in your bag of tricks if it’s the only way to shoot some images and get a job done.
